Hi! I'm Rebecca Sugar other wise known as Sadie.

I am a cute gray tabby with special needs.

I’ve had a very rough start in life.

I was found in the middle of the road by a mail carrier in December 2021, when I was only about 6 weeks old and weighed about 14 ounces.

Much of my life has been touch and go, but I’m now around 8 months old and approaching 4 pounds!

I’m still a tiny little thing, but have been growing slowly and steadily.

I am a bit of a quirky kitty and have been known to use my foster mom’s pony tail as a head rest, so I can nap while I’m sitting on her shoulders.

I enjoy sleeping in bed with my foster family at night.

I’m up to date on all my vaccinations, microchipped and have even been spayed!

I am a special needs kitty as the vet suspects that I have a chronic neurologic deficit.

I am not very graceful and sometimes stumble and fall down.

Figuring out how to survive and be a kitty has been a struggle for me, but I now eat food and drink water all by myself!

I have grown up in my foster home with a puppy that I love dearly!

I follow her around to see what I should be doing – when she gets fed I run to her bowl to eat too, when she drinks water I follow her to the water bowl and get a drink as well.

I even lay down by the door and wait for her when she goes outside.

My puppy friend grooms me and lets me snuggle up with her to sleep.

Luckily, I’ve modeled my litter box habits after the adult kitties in my foster home and have always done a great job with this – I’ve never once had an accident! The adult kitties are not friendly towards other cats but it doesn’t stop me from finding them and trying to be their friend!

I must find a forever home with another gentle, loving, patient animal that will be willing to be a pseudo-mom to me and continue caring for me the way my puppy friend does. A kitten, cat or dog buddy would be great so that I would have someone to watch to continue learning how to be a cat.

I don’t mind children at all but I am not a very sturdy kitten with any self-preservation skills so the young kids in my foster home have to be careful with me and not carry me around.

I’ll be staying in my foster home until I’m adopted.

If you and your furry family members have room in your hearts for little me, please contact the shelter to arrange a time that I can come into the shelter to meet you! I know my forever home is out there and I can’t wait to get there!
